I always have a hard time styling my hair for special events. It’s super easy to just go to the salon and get it styled or even blown out for super easy manageability, but what if you’re on a budget or just don’t have time to go to the salon? The easiest and my GO TO style is a TWIST-OUT. I’ll twist my hair a few days ahead of time if I know my hair needs to be on and popping’ or quite honestly if I know i’m not going to wake-up and do my hair. Which is daily. 😜
I’ll either flat twist my hair or loose twists. Depending on what time i’m starting dictates the evenness of my strands (look, i’ve a lot of hair, they’re never even). I did loose twist about a week in advance and pinned them into a bun throughout the week and unraveled them for an event.
First Step: Twists
Now we’re here: Unraveled.

Pin Up Style:
I left some…maybe 4 or 5 twists in for this style for supreme texture. I then pulled and pinned half of my hair up. I fluffed and tucked as I desired. I love updo’s because they accentuate and elongate you neck and the cascading hair adds just the touch of appeal.
Loose Braid Back and Bobby Deco
For this style, again, I left a few twists in for texture. This isn’t actually a braid, it’s wrapping the opposite ends around each other. If that’s poorly explained 😅, just do a loose braid and add decorative baby pins. These are frosted gold pins.
I lifted the crown slightly for volume and left the ends frayed.
Crown Roll
In this look, I did a two strand ‘braid’ all the way around. Because my hair is already twisted, it gives it the textured look. If you want a french roll look, I simply gathered all the hair from the sides and bobby pinned my hair.
Products:
Consistently, over the last two years, I’ve used the Creme of Nature Argan Oil brand; it’s affordable, smells great and has great results. I try to stick to this brand because it’s easy to become a product junkie, but i’ve found something that I like and that my hair likes and isn’t expensive! You can get it from almost any retail store, but I grab mines from target because there is usually a coupon.
The easiest and my GO TO style is a TWIST-OUT.
For my twists, I always use the mousse, hair lotion and twist and curl pudding. Every day, I spray my hair with their leave in conditioner. If i’m feeling fancy not lazy, I MIGHT gel my edges, but I rarely do that because I hate the baby hair look. *i said it*
Let me know if you try some of these styles!!!!
