The 2019 SCCPSS Teacher of the Year is Ms. Kiwonda Riley.  When I walked into her classroom to meet her she was teaching a dance class (she also teaches English). She knows how to speak to teenagers, the cool teacher. I think she’s always been that way.

I remember in high school, I was probably a freshman or sophomore and seeing her in the halls. I think as a teen, you can easily identify people that you would like or admire, she was one of the persons for me. I was a dork, so she didn’t know it. I can recall her being a cheerleader and being very joyful and rambunctious, minus the bad rap as a mean girls that some cheerleaders carry. Safe to say, she’s still that same person. One to admire, but with a “started from the bottom, now i’m here” story, with such much humility.

I knew immediately, I had to capture to youthfulness and dance spirit in a chic look, completely gifted from Fabric and Dillards. Her look is perfect for school, brunch with the girls or the Food and Wine Festival with her fiancé.
