I love fall makeup colors and I love looking snatched on the holidays…well any day. Check out my full face routine here with all the products I used on my face.
Blazer, white blouse, blue jeans. Classics. Staples. Effortless. It’s my go to on Fridays (heeeeeyyyyy) and weekends. I added a pop of color on my eyes with blue shadow and an orange necklace.
Every article and item was thrifted!!! Even the $298 J Brand Jeans I snagged at a consignment shop.
The weather is changing, leaves are getting darker…and (in Rafiki’s voice) it is time for dark and seasonal lips. Berries, wine, oranges, plums. I got ’em all. Granted, you can wear any lipstick color you want any time of the year, but here are some sure fire hits for Autumn AND they are all affordable (less than $10, most $5)…with TWO Mac options. You’ll definitely notice some are dupes of each other!
I might go on a tangent about how much i’m going to miss warm weather with Fall and Wintter approaching…even thought it’s still in the 80’s in good ‘ol Savannah, Georgia. But what I do love…is burgundy…marroon…deep plums. Probably because their variations of red and purple, two of my favorite colors. Not to mention, it’s always fall appropriate, but is a very trendy color…nails, hair, coats, shoes, etc.
I’ve been waiting to wear this dress because I love the bow, BUT LET ME TELL YOU….the arms are totally wonky. I needed to pull it over my big hair, have my mom pull the dress down WHILE my dad was pulling my arm up. Yea, a mess. But it was worth it lol. I paired this rich color dress with some rich boots…my Manolo Blahniks…that were unworn. And free. Remember?

One of the trends this fall are colors that tend to be seen in other seasons– blush, florals and oranges. I love orange and the different variations…definately my tones (pulls out the gold in my skin). And as you know, i’m a huge fan of jumpsuits and onesie fits, so of course when I see them in stores, I gravitate towards them. There were several different colors and I tried on the royal blue, but I have a ton of blue and was missing a super bright piece in my wardrobe. Aaaand, it was on clearance.
I love scarves….as in wearing them on my head. Whenever I am having a lazy hair day….which is most days (hence twists/protective styles), I find it super easy to throw a scarf on my head for a quick style that’s comfortable and….quick 🙂
Scarves make good head wraps, especially in the summer to get hair out of your face and off your neck. They’re good for the fall because they’re even more versatile. When it is a wrap day, I, i’m usually quite casual; shirt dress, or in this case jeans and a button down. You can easily dress up your jeans with heels, but to honor the season, I opted for some cool suede boots.
Fall tip: to offset the coral shirt, I pulled the blues from the wrap into the accessories and wore a dark lip.’

Is it me…it’s probably me, but I feel so elegant and Net-A-Porter-ish with this dress and simplicity of it. It’s classic, comfortable and cross seasonal. The only difference, i’m not rolling in dough to shop at Net-A-Porter. Plus, I get tons of compliments every time I wear this.
Sometimes, we can have so many clothes and continue to shop the same mundane items…and it ends up cluttering our closet. I’ve known Dr. Mosley for years and she’s a highly professional woman. She dresses mostly in suits and is very conservative.
I did some shopping for her and introduced her didn’t shapes, colors and cuts. A lot of women are self-conscious about their necklines, but if you don’t over accessorize or accentuate your perceived flaws, you can wear anything with confidence.
I shopped her Keenya at a variety of stores, primarily Stein Mart and New York and Company. I went to several stores, but they are still lacking a presence and missing the market dollar for women sizes. First of all, Stein Mart really needs to update their marketing and displays, but they have a great selection of modern items and women sizes. Second, NY&C has always been my jam…both my mom and I (different generations and sizes) can shop there.
Keenya had several events she needed styling for, primarily her sorority events. I didn’t want her to be completely decked out in her sorority colors, so some outfits are solid and others will be accessorized with the colors…and dusters with some.
For her Labor Day bash, Keenya wanted to be the light of her party, obviously. I got this number from Gabrielle Union’s new collection at New York and Company and added very simple accessories. The off the should look with a statement necklace was perfect for her neckline…and needless to say, she was stunning and exuded confidence.

Labor Day in south Georgia is filled with love bugs (highly annoying), muggy heat (still) and plenty of cookouts! This year, I headed over to my mentor’s house for her annual Labor Day cookout…food was so good and the weather held up beautifully. I’ve have this dress I thrifted about a year ago and only wore it once, but that occasion did it no justice (just a road trip). When looking for something to wear, I knew I wanted something light and breathable, comfortable and a dash and spice.
Simple accessories. Hair pulled back. I wanted the dress to speak. If you’re a leggy girl like myself, you know it’s a strength (lol). I’m able to control this dress to be dowdy or sexy…this dress was a win. I’ve got the numbers I took that i’ll never call to prove it (elle. oh. elle.)
